- Associate Professor in Ecology (tenure possition since 1991),
- Director of the Terrestrial Ecology Group of the University of Granada (since
1995).
- Representative of the Ecology Section (Department of Animal Biology and Ecology),
University of Granada (since 1997).
CURRENT TEACHING (20 years of teaching experience):
1) Theoretical and practical teaching of the undergraduate course "General
Ecology" of the majors "Biological Sciences" and "Environmental
Sciences".
2) Theoretical and practical teaching of the undergraduate course "Applied
Ecology" of the major "Biological Sciences".

- Ecology of forest regeneration in Mediterranean environments

- Ecology and evolution of plant-animal interactions, focusing
on the relationships between diversity and function.

both in the Spanish Universities and in the CSIC. I was invited by the Department
of Ecology, University of Lund (Sweden), to act as a Faculty opponent of a
doctoral position.

- Spanish representative for the Scientific Commite on Problems of the Environment

- President of the Spanish Terrestrial Ecological Society (AEET). I belong
also to the Ecological Society of America, the Nordic Ecological Society, and
the Botanical Society of America.
-My articles published in Oikos (1990), and Oikos (1995) about the ecology
of carnivorous plants has been possitively critized in Nature (March 1991,
vol. 350, pag. 192, and November 1995, vol. 378, pag. 442).
