Structure.

The GLOBIMED network aims to integrate the activities of 17 scientists and their respective working groups (collaborators, members of the department, students, technicians and other personnel). These researchers are distributed uniformly throughout Spain, ensuring representation of diverse ecosystems and environmental issues, thereby broadening the scope of GLOBIMED and its work. The open structure of GLOBIMED enables the participation of a good number of Spanish universities.

GLOBIMED is comprised of scientists from fields that, as a whole, cover the entire range of biological organisation that constitutes biodiversity - whether genetic, population, community, etc - which is crucial for the development of criteria of sustainable forest development that can be conveyed to managers.

GLOBIMED is structured around five thematic areas, each under the responsibility of a coordinator. These areas and the coordinators are as follows:

GLOBIMED Coordinator
Dr. Francisco Lloret. CREAF. Universitat Autónoma Barcelona.
